They seek out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts, with the support of their Mo Sistas and at the end of the month, celebrate by hosting their own Movember party or attend one of Movember's Gala Partés held in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
All for a good cause of course. Movember strives to highlight the importance of Men's Health, especially with regards to prostrate and testicular cancers. All funds raised in South Africa go directly to CANSA's Men's Health Programmes for prostate and testicular cancers.
Get Your Mo On
Mo Bro's and Sistas can now build teams and networks and compete with each other, create a personal fundraising page, enter competitions, get Mo Merchandise and attend the much anticipated Gala Partés.
Having started in Australia eight years ago, Movember has grown into a global annual moustache growing campaign throughout the month of November to raise vital funds and awareness for Men's Health issues - see how it all began. There is a growing demand from Mo Bros and Sistas around the world wanting to grow moustaches and celebrate Movember in their own countries. To date, more than 1.1 million people have participated, registered and raised more than R1.2 billion worldwide.
Why the Mo?
Movember is about bringing back the moustache for a serious cause and sees Mo Bros, supported by the Mo Sistas in their lives, effectively becoming walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions raising awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of Men's Health.
