CA2C Solo Stage race

The CA2C Team is working full steam with the race less than a month away. We are very aware of all the other MTB races on the calendar and we use the feedback that we get from the MTB fraternity to improve our races where we can. So to confirm the rumours, CA2C Riders will be spoilt and getting:

  • A healthy breakfast at CAF on arrival the Sat morning and three home cooked meals in Darling;
  • Dinner and breakfast for riders staying over at Clara Anna Fontein;
  • A goody bag with lots of promo items and a shirt;
  • Free alcoholic drinks on promotion (Sat evening and Sunday lunch)
  • Snoekbraai, potjiekos on the beach in Yzerfontein with Retief Vijoen as live entertainer
  • AND no queues anywhere, that’s why we keep our races small but exclusive!

CA2C Riders will be spending two days cycling through the natural splendour and remnants of the remaining Renosterveld. If you Ride the Wind with us your 2011 will start on a high note with this race being one of the most rewarding things you could do for mind, body and soul!

Route Profile

Day 1

The race will start at 6:00 at Clara Anna Fontein (CAF) because of the Feb heat. A 5km route to start in the Clara Anna Fontein game camp up the famous Odendal Hill. This will break up the bunch and then from Morgenster very steep to Bloemendal and then steep uphill will further spread riders before the Hillcrest and Kliprug single track. Contermanskloof will give riders free flow downhill and onto first water point at Meerendal. The best 35km track and vistas in the Cape.
The Meerendal single track and Godzilla drop will make you aware of the dangers of downhill. Along to Klipheuwel and a section next to the railroad onto the N7-crossing to Chatsworth for some 5km sand at Klein Dassenberg. The Spur feeding station and Darling Dairies provides 5-star water points lovely situated next to a dam. Then route goes past Cloof wine estate. Orange Kloof will provide the riders with the last big climb and the stop over at Darling will be a well deserved rest. Good food, West-coast hospitality and warm showers to be followed with prize giving.

Day 2

Sunday early morning start at 06:00 to be climbing out of Darling to Ormonde over to the Mamre (King of the Mountain prize). After that to Grootte Post water point. The route does a lot of climbs to the !Kwa Ttu project for a Spur feeding station. The short dash to Yzerfontein will put the fast riders on the beach ready for a Sunday beach party lunch.
