Coffee Shops

Relaxing country music flows through the radio speakers as I sit here among the local regulars. A couple has started up a game of chess over their coffee and tea; an elderly man sporting a racing cap reads the Morning Journal, the county newspaper; and a man and woman choose a table by the window as they sip from Styrofoam cups and fill out a crossword puzzle.

Experience these comforts at Coffee Shops in Malmesbury, Coffee Shops in Paarl, Coffee Shops in Stellenbosch.

An old friend from high school stops by in bright pink sweatpants for her daily latte, the exact flavor of which she has forgotten. She turns to one of the co-owners, Jeremy, to ask, “What’s it called again?” Jeremy rambles off a string of combinations, and I only catch caramel and “skinny.” Co-owner Jessica sets to prepare the drink.

The store emits a coffee scent, subtle and sweet, not overpowering. The smell won’t stick to my clothes for the rest of the day, as is the case at other coffee shops. I decide I want a drink, so I ponder the menu: the new Sunrise Smoothie sounds good, as does the Candied Caramel Latte.

Enjoy these Delicacies at Coffee Shops in Worcester and Coffee Shops in Ceres.

The glass pastry case exhibits the latest goodies: cannolis overflowing with cream, topped with sprinkles and Easter egg-shaped plastic rings; large pieces of chocolate cake with Oreo toppings; and tall parfaits, filled with fruit or chocolate, yogurt and whipped cream.
