Unirec was established in Malmesbury in 1984 by Mr Martin Smit who has 40 years experience in manufacturing of material handling machinery and has worked all around the world eg; Africa, Britain, USA and Chile, on material handling machinery, building, installation and testing. Unirec started in a small workshop of approximately 320m2 which has since grown to approximately 920m2 with four overhead cranes with 20 tons lifting capacity.
Unirec works mainly in the Swartland and Western-Cape but has already worked as far as Alexander Bay and in the North-Western-Cape. Unirec is geared for anywhere in South Africa and for manufacturing of products for overseas clients. What makes Unirec different? We design our products according to clients' specifications, by a qualified mechanical engineer. Manufacturing is done in our workshop and we do all the installations.
